Colchani is the gateway to the Uyuni salt flat. It has a salt museum visited by many travellers. In the village there are 2 very basic guesthouses lacking sanitary facilities. There are also several hotels along the edges of the Uyuni salt flat that do have full sanitary facilities, and these are privately owned.
