Uyuni is a municipality and tourist city in southwestern Bolivia, capital of the province of Antonio Quijarro in the department of Potosí. It has a population of 20 958 in 2012.1 Being a tourist center in the region, Uyuni is connected to the country's main cities by the Joya Andina Airport (opened in 2011). During 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, Uyuni was part of the route of the international automobile competition Dakar Rally.
